We all know what time it is. It is only fitting, is it not? Welcome back to the Sublime Blog. Dear readers, a lot has happened since my last segment. To make it short, I moved to Paris, city where dreams are realized. After all, Paris Fashion Week is where it all started. Let’s get into it.
Last night’s Matières Fécales show was not only art but a statement. The collection was the second chapter of their previous show and they did not disappoint. The marginalized was put in front (like we love to see) and the current state of our society was critiqued in a fashionable way.
The second day of PFW was full of surprises ( or was it?). The Dior show, the Margiela collection and Anthony Vaccarello’s final YSL défilé strikes today. Soft colours at Dior and bright gold at Yves St-Laurent are the tone we love to see.
While the biggest names in the industry keep surprising us, we can’t forget the new ones who are making their mark. Julie Kegels, Hodakova and Bruce Akyol should be added to your “Encyclopédie de la mode” right this second. A well known fact is that the fashion industry is constantly evolving. We needed change and change we’ll get
Emergence is the new resistance. Certain things stay the same but if we keep moving, we’ll be the next generation. I promise.
